Process documentation Prerequisites in SAP R/3 for Consumption of Configured Products Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

This topic describes the settings that you have to make in SAP R/3 in order to consume the forecast (planned independent requirements) of configured products in SAP APO by sales orders that are created in SAP R/3.

Prerequisites

You have created classes and characteristics in SAP R/3 (see Structure linkCreation of Characteristics and Classes in R/3 for Use in CBF).

In SAP R/3, you have created configurable materials. For more information, see the SAP Library for SAP R/3 in the Variant Configuration (LO-VC) component under Material Master Data for Configurable Materials and in the Material Master (LO-MD-MM) component.

Process Flow

...

       1.      In addition to the normal settings, you must ensure that the requirements are transferred when you create a sales order for a material in SAP R/3. You should choose a planning strategy (Strategy Group on the MRP 3 tab page in the standard system) that does the following:

¡        Transfers requirements

¡        Plans for single items

¡        Plans without final assembly

¡        Stipulates that configuration is mandatory

¡        Specifies that consumption of planned independent requirements is for characteristic values and not variants

These prerequisites are fulfilled in the standard SAP system by the planning strategy 56. For more information, see the SAP Library for SAP R/3 in the Demand Management (PP-MP-DEM) component under Characteristics-Based Forecasting.

Note

You make the settings in Customizing for SAP R/3 for the requirements class. The requirements class is assigned to the planning strategy.

       2.      In the integration model (see Structure linkTransfer of Data for CBF from SAP R/3 to SAP APO), include the following:

¡        The materials

¡        Plant

¡        ATP check for the materials

¡        Sales orders for the materials

¡        The relevant classes and characteristics
For more information about the integration of CDP characteristics and classes, see also Structure linkIntegration of Classes and Characteristics.

       3.      Activate the integration model.
