Function documentation Assignment of Lifecycle Profiles  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this function to assign like profiles and phase-in/out profiles to planning areas.

Prerequisites

You have created the planning area.

You have set the Lifecycle Planning Active indicator in the master forecast profile.

Before you can assign profiles to a planning area, you must decide which characteristic combinations are to be used for selection purposes. To do so choose Basic settings from the initial screen of lifecycle planning (see Setting Up Lifecycle Planning).

Activities

To assign profiles to a characteristic value combination in a planning area select Assignments on the initial screen of lifecycle planning and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

You can either work in the table view or on detail screens. If you want to work with ranges, you must use detail screens. You can also use wildcards in the table view.

Note

When working with wildcards, you can enter * or Text*, but not *text or text* or text*text. In this case text also includes numeric characters.

You can assign each characteristic value combination a like profile, a phase-in profile, and a phase-out profile. For the phase-in and phase-out profiles you also specify a validity period. This period overwrites any period entered in the profile itself. Similarly, if the period specified is shorter than the number of periods contained in the profile, the shorter period is used, starting from the beginning of the time series. This means that periods at the end of the time series may be cut off.

To create a new assignment using the detail view, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text. On the dialog box that appears you enter:

You must have previously entered this characteristic value combination for the master planning object structure. Here you can use ranges but not wildcards. When you choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text the system creates the individual combinations.

You must have created a profile previously. You can edit profiles from the main screen by choosing Goto, the relevant profile type and then Define.

To create a new assignment in the table view, simply enter the relevant details or use the pull-down box to display possible entries. In the table view you can use wildcards (*) for characteristics. Here you also enter the validity dates for the phase-in and phase-out profiles.

To change the profile(s) in the detail view, select the combination and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text. You can change the entries on the dialog box that appears.

When you have finished editing assignments choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to return to the master forecast profile.
