Ad Hoc Reporting on Data in a Planning Area
Follow this procedure to use Business Explorer reporting functions on APO planning area data.
Using MultiCubes it is also possible to report on planned data in APO and actual data in a BW system. For more information, see the SAP Business Information Warehouse documentation for Release 2.0B at http://help.sap.com/.
You have created a Remote InfoCube for your planning area. To find out how to do this, see

You have defined a
query in the SAP Business Explorer Browser. To find out how to do this, see the SAP Business Information Warehouse documentation for Release 2.0B at http://help.sap.com/.
Install a BW front end.
On your Windows desktop, choose Start → Programs → SAP Frontend → SAP Business → Explorer Analyzer.
This starts Excel.At the prompt, enable the Excel macros.
In the Analyzer toolbar, click on the Settings icon and choose BW server connection.
This causes a SAP Logon window to appear.Log on to your APO system.
In the Analyzer toolbar, click on the Open icon.
In the panel on the left, click Queries.
Double-click on the query you want to start.
Make a change in interactive planning and click the Refresh icon in the Analyzer toolbar
The updated data is instantly read from liveCache.
You see the planning data in Excel, as well as a header showing the object selection to which the data refers.
