Aggregation level

Define the aggregation level as follows:

1.Click on Aggregation level.

2. Select the characteristics that correspond to the aggregation level on which you want the job to be carried out. The default level is the most detailed level.

3. Choose Enter.

The aggregation level can make a big difference to the forecast results. If you run the forecast on a high level (for example, at division level), the system aggregates the historical data (for example, the historical data of all products in a division) before it carries out the forecast. However, if you run the forecast on a low level (for example, for just one product), the system creates the forecast based on the historical data at this level, and then aggregates the forecast results in the planning screen at runtime.

The aggregation level works as follows:

    1. The system determines which plannable characteristic value combinations are defined in the selection. For example:
    2. Region

      Division

      Brand

      Product

      North

      Beverages

      GO

      A

      Food

      POWER

      B

      South

      Ceramics

      Beverages

      GO

      A

      South

      BEAUTY

      C

    3. The system determines which characteristic values are defined in the aggregation level. For example, if you define Product as your aggregation level, the system creates forecasts at product level for the following products:
