Use this window to generate forecasts based on the sales history.

Forecasts Generation Fields
Select Items By

Filters to be included in the forecast.

You may filter items by Item, preferred Vendor, and Default Warehouse.

Generate Forecast for Warehouses

Select the browse button to open the Warehouse Selection window, in which you can select the warehouses that store the items you want to include in the forecast.

When the checkbox is selected, it indicates that at least one warehouse is selected; when the checkbox is unselected, it indicates that no warehouse is selected, and the default warehouse will be displayed in the forecast.

Base on Sales History

Determines the sales documents to be included into calculation and the calculation method.

Available calculation methods vary in accordance to the definition of the View field.

  • Simple Average

    1. Total quantities for the selected item, from the selected sales document, within the history start and end date are summed up.

    2. Summed quantities are then averaged by the number of days, weeks or months according to the forecast start and end date

  • Daily History

    1. Total quantities for the selected item, from the selected sales document, for each day within the history start and end date are extracted.

    2. Extracted quantities per day are populated into each day within the forecast start and end date.

  • Weekly History

    1. Total quantities for the selected item, from the selected sales document, for each week are summed up.

    2. Summed quantities per week are populated into each week within the forecast start and end date.

  • Monthly History

    1. Total quantities for the selected item, from the selected sales document, for each month are summed up

    2. Summed quantities per month are populated into each month within the forecast start and end date

History Start Date

Enter the sales history start date. SAP Business One automatically generates an end date according to your definition of the forecast horizon.

SAP Business One may adjust your input of History Start Date according to your definition for the forecast View.

The application uses the dates below to filter the corresponding documents with the history range you defined:

  • Sales orders: Del. Date in item lines.

  • Deliveries: Actual Delivery Date in item lines

  • A/R invoices: Actual Delivery Date in item lines
