Use this window to allocate items to bin locations for any documents which involve the receiving of items.

For a list of receipt documents, see Receipts to Bin Locations.

SAP Business One lets you access the window on a row level in the receipt documents. To access the window, there are several ways for different receipt documents, as follows:

  • Inventory transfer

    • In the Inventory Transfer window, click Link Arrow (Link Arrow) to the left of the quantity in the To Bin Locations field in the row.

    • In the Inventory Transfer window, right-click in the row and choose Allocate Items to Bin Locations.

  • All documents to do with the receiving of items, excluding inventory transfer

    • In the document, click Link Arrow (Link Arrow) to the left of the quantity in the Bin Location Allocation field in the row.

    • In the document, right-click in the row and choose Bin Location Allocation.

    • In the document, place your cursor in the row and press Ctrl + Shift + A.

General Area
Document No.

Displays the number of the document for which you are allocating the items to bin locations.

Row No.

Displays the number of the row for which you are allocating the items to bin locations.

Warehouse Code

Displays the code of the warehouse where you want to store the item.

The code is taken from the document row from which you open the Bin Location Allocation – Receipt window.

Item No.

Displays the number of the item which you are allocating to bin locations.

The item number is taken from the document row where you open the Bin Location Allocation – Receipt window.

Quantity

Displays the quantity of the item you need to allocate to bin locations.

The quantity is taken from the document row from which you open the Bin Location Allocation – Receipt window.

Total Allocated

Displays how many items in total you have allocated to bin locations.

The quantity is the sum of all quantities you have specified in the Allocated field in the table.

Remaining

Displays how many items you still need to allocate to bin locations.

The quantity is calculated with the following formula:

Remaining = QuantityTotal Allocated

Assign Default Bin Loc.

To allocate the item to the default bin location, choose this pushbutton.

If the item does not have a default bin location, the system allocates the item to the default bin location of the item group. If the item group does not have a default bin location, the system allocates the item to the default bin location of the warehouse.

However, if there is no default bin location for the item, item group and warehouse, the system displays an error.

Clear Allocations

To clear all allocations, choose the pushbutton.

Table Area
Bin Location

Specify the bin location to which you want to allocate the item.

Allocated

Specify how many of the item you want to allocate to the bin location.

To quickly allocate the remaining quantity, place your cursor in this field and do either of the following:

  • Press Ctrl + B on your keyboard.

  • Right-click and select Copy Remaining from the context menu.
