Use this option to generate warehouse sublevel codes in batches.

SAP Business One allows you to preview the warehouse sublevel codes before you generate them.

To select this option, proceed as follows:

  1. From the SAP Business One Main Menu, choose   Administration   Setup   Inventory   Bin Locations   Warehouse Sublevel Code Management  .

  2. In the Warehouse Sublevel Code Management window, select Generate Warehouse Sublevel Codes in the Management Task field.

Warehouse Sublevel Codes

Use this section to define the warehouse sublevel codes you want to generate.

Warehouse Sublevel

From a dropdown list of active warehouse sublevels, select a sublevel for which you want to generate the codes.

Note Note

By default, SAP Business One activates warehouse sublevel 1 for you. To activate other warehouse sublevels, go to Bin Location Field Activation Window.

End of the note.
Sublevel Code Segment From ... To

Specify the sublevel code segments which comprise the warehouse sublevel codes you want to generate. You can specify a range for each segment.

Each warehouse sublevel code can consist of up to six segments, and each segment can be any of the following types:

  • Fixed – Any fixed string with a maximum length of 50 characters

You can enter alphabetic letters, numbers, symbols, or a combination of all. For a fixed string, you cannot specify a range.

  • Alphabetic – Alphabetic letters with a maximum length of 50 characters

    Note Note

When you specify a range, you must ensure the following:

    • The characters have the same length in the From and To fields.

    • The first letter in the From field must precede alphabetically the first letter in the To field.

    End of the note.
  • Numeric – Numbers with a maximum length of 50 characters

Note Note

When you specify a range, you must ensure the number in the From field is less than or equal to the number in the To field.

SAP Business One lets you enter numbers of different lengths in the From and To fields. In this case, while generating the warehouse sublevel codes, SAP Business One automatically adds leading zeros to the number in the From field]

For example, if you enter 1 and 10 in the From and To fields respectively, SAP Business One automatically considers the range as being from 01 to 10.

End of the note.

Note Note

SAP Business One automatically applies upper case to any alphabetic letters you enter in these fields.

End of the note.

Example Example

You have specified the following sublevel code segments:

  • Segment 1 – Fixed: ZONE

  • Segment 2 – Alphabetic: from A to B

  • Segment 3 – Numeric: from 1 to 02

As a result, the following warehouse sublevel codes are generated:

  • ZONEA01

  • ZONEA02

  • ZONEB01

  • ZONEB02

End of the example.
