SAP Business One lets you allocate items from bin locations throughout the entire pick and pack process.

To allocate items that are managed by serials or batches from bin locations in pick and pack, proceed as follows:

Prerequisites

  • You have enabled bin locations for at least one warehouse in your company.

For more information, see Enabling Bin Locations.

  • The items you commit in the sales order and A/R reserve invoice document rows are stored in warehouses with bin locations.

  • The items you commit in the sales order and A/R reserve invoice document rows are managed by serials or batches.

Procedure

  1. From the SAP Business One Main Menu, choose   Inventory   Pick and Pack   Pick and Pack Manager  .

  2. In the Pick and Pack Manager - Selection Criteria window, specify the selection criteria and choose OK.

  3. In the Pick and Pack Manager - Open Drawer, select the sales order and A/R reserve invoice rows for which you want to create pick lists, and proceed as follows:

    • For serial and batch items that are issued primarily by bin locations, enter the quantity you want to release to the pick lists.

      Note Note

In pick and pack, SAP Business One treats this kind of serial and batch item as regular items that are not managed by serials or batches. You cannot select the serials or batches here as you have not selected the bin locations yet. The system lets you select the serials and batches only when you create deliveries for the sales order and A/R reserve invoice rows.

      End of the note.
    • For serial and batch items that are issued primarily by serial or batch numbers, enter the quantity you want to release to the pick lists and select the serials or batches in either of the following windows:

      • Serial Number Selection

In this window, you can see the bin location information. When you select a serial number, the corresponding bin location is selected automatically.

      • Batch Number Selection

In this window, you cannot see the bin location information. You can select the batches here, and perform the bin location allocation later in the pick list generation wizard.

For more information about how to open the two above-mentioned window, see Serial Number Selection Window and Batch Number Selection Window.

  4. In the Pick and Pack Manager - Open Drawer, choose the Release to Pick List pushbutton.

  7. In step 3 of the wizard, specify the general information about the pick lists, and choose the Generate pushbutton.
