Use this option to delete bin locations in batches.

SAP Business One lets you preview the bin locations before you delete them.

To select this option, proceed as follows:

  1. From the SAP Business One Main Menu, choose   Inventory   Bin Locations   Bin Location Management  .

  2. In the Bin Location Management window, select Delete Bin Locations in the Management Task field.

Select Bin Locations

Use this section to select a range of bin locations that you want to delete.

Warehouse From ... To

Specify the warehouses in which the bin locations you want to delete are physically located.

You can select a range of warehouses from the dropdown lists of warehouses which have bin locations enabled.

<Sublevel 1/2/3/4> From ... To

Specify the sublevel codes that represent the physical location of the bin.

You can select a range of sublevel codes from the dropdown lists.

Note Note

Only the sublevels you have activated are available.

By default, SAP Business One activates sublevel 1 for you. To activate other warehouse sublevels, go to Bin Location Field Activation Window.

Expanded Selection Criteria

Use this section to further narrow down the range of bin locations that you want to delete.

Note Note

In this section, you can see a checkbox to the left of each field.

You can use the checkbox to indicate whether you want to filter the bin locations by the field information.

If you want to filter the bin locations by the field information, select the checkbox to the left of the field first. However, if you do not want to filter the bin locations by the field information, leave the checkbox to the left of the field unselected.

Inactive

If you want to filter the bin locations by their inactive statuses, select the left-side checkbox first.

To narrow down the bin location range to inactive bin locations only, select the right-side checkbox .

To narrow down the bin location range to active bin locations only, leave the right-side checkbox unselected.

Receiving Bin Location

If you want to narrow down the bin location range to receiving bin locations or non-receiving bin locations only, select the left-side checkbox first.

To narrow down the bin location range to receiving bin locations only, select the right-side checkbox .

To narrow down the bin location range to non-receiving bin locations only, leave the right-side checkbox unselected.

Description

If you want to filter the bin locations by description, select the left-side checkbox first.

Then, enter the description in the right-side field. SAP Business One automatically searches through the selected bin locations and finds those with the specified description.

If you leave the right-side field empty, SAP Business One filters out all selected bin locations which have a description.

Alternative Sort Code

If you want to filter the bin locations by an alternative sort code, select the left-side checkbox first.

Then, enter the alternative sort code in the right-side field. SAP Business One automatically searches through the selected bin locations and finds those with the specified alternative sort code.

If you leave the right-side field empty, SAP Business One filters out all selected bin locations which have an alternative sort code.

Bar Code

If you want to filter the bin locations by bar code, select the left-side checkbox first.

Then, enter the bar code in the right-side field. SAP Business One automatically searches through the selected bin locations and finds those with the specified bar codes.

If you leave the right-side field empty, SAP Business One filters out all selected bin locations which have a bar code.

Minimum Qty

If you want to filter the bin locations by their minimum quantity settings, select the left-side checkbox first.

Then, enter the minimum quantity in the right-side field. SAP Business One automatically searches through the selected bin locations and finds those with the specified minimum.

If you leave the right-side field empty, SAP Business One filters out all selected bin locations which have specified the minimum quantity.

Maximum Qty

If you want to filter the bin locations by their maximum quantity settings, select the left-side checkbox first.

Then, enter the maximum quantity in the right-side field. SAP Business One automatically searches through the selected bin locations and finds those with the specified maximum.

If you leave the right-side field empty, SAP Business One filters out all selected bin locations which have specified the maximum quantity.

Item Restrictions

If you want to filter the bin locations by their item restriction statuses, select the left-side checkbox first.

Then, select one of the following options in the right-side field to indicate the item restriction status of the bin locations you want to delete:

  • None – Indicates a bin location has no item restrictions, that is, the bin location can store any item.

  • Specific Item – Indicates a bin location is restricted to a specific item, that is, the bin location can only store a specific item.

    To specify the item, select the checkbox to the left of the Item field first. Then, select the item from the choose from list in the Item field.

    Note Note

    If you select the Specific Item option without specifying the item, SAP Business One automatically searches through the selected bin locations and finds those which are restricted to a specific item.

    If you select the Specific Item option with the item specified, SAP Business One automatically searches through the selected bin locations and finds those which are restricted to this particular item.

  • Single Item Only – Indicates a bin location is restricted to a single item, that is, the bin location can only store one item.

  • Specific Item Group – Indicates a bin location is restricted to a specific item group, that is, the bin location can only store items from a specific item group.

    To specify the item group, select the checkbox to the left of the Item Group field first. Then, select the item group from the dropdown list in the Item Group field.

    Note Note

    If you select the Specific Item Group option without specifying the item group, SAP Business One automatically searches through the selected bin locations and finds those which are restricted to a specific item group.

    If you select the Specific Item Group option with the item group specified, SAP Business One automatically searches through the selected bin locations and finds those which are restricted to this particular item group.

  • Single Item Group Only – Indicates a bin location is restricted to a single item group, that is, the bin location can only store items from one item group.

Batch Restrictions

If you want to filter the bin locations by their batch restriction statuses, select the left-side checkbox first.

Then, select either of the following options in the right-side field to indicate the batch restriction status of the bin locations you want to delete:

  • None – Indicates a bin location has no batch restrictions, that is, the bin location can store any items regardless of its batch information.

  • Single Batch – Indicates a bin location is restricted to a single batch, that is, the bin location can only store items from one batch.

Transaction Restrictions

If you want to filter the bin locations by their transaction restriction statuses, select the left-side checkbox first.

Then, select one of the following options in the right-side field to indicate the transaction restriction status of the bin locations you want to delete:

  • None – Indicates a bin location has no transaction restrictions, that is, the bin location can be used in any relevant transactions.

  • All Transactions – Indicates a bin location is restricted from all transactions, that is, the bin location cannot be used in any transactions.

  • Inbound Transactions – Indicates a bin location is restricted from inbound transactions, that is, the bin location cannot be used to store any incoming flow of goods.

  • Outbound Transactions – Indicates a bin location is restricted from outbound transactions, that is, the bin location cannot be used during the issuing of goods.

    Note Note

    If you have restricted a bin location from inbound or outbound transactions, you can still use the bin location in inventory transfer, counting and posting documents.

  • All Except Inventory Transfer and Counting – Indicates the bin location is restricted to inventory transfer, counting and posting only. That is, the bin location can only be used during inventory transfer, counting and posting.

Reason

If you want to filter the bin locations according to the reason for their transaction restrictions, select the left-side checkbox first.

Then, enter the reason in the right-side field. SAP Business One automatically searches through the selected bin locations and finds those which have their transaction restriction reason specified.

If you leave the right-side field empty, SAP Business One filters out all selected bin locations which have specified a reason for their transaction restrictions.

The fields are available only if you have activated the bin location attributes. To do so, go to Bin Location Field Activation Window.

If you want to filter the bin locations by their attributes, select the checkboxes to the left of the intended attribute fields first.

Then, enter the attribute codes in the right-side attribute fields. SAP Business One automatically searches through the selected bin locations and finds those with the specified attributes.

If you leave the attribute fields empty, SAP Business One filters out all selected bin locations which have specified an attribute code in these fields.
