Local era information is mainly used in reporting to government authorities, and in the transfer of data, such as importing bank statements. You require authorization to define a new local era.
To open this window, choose

Specify one alpha character as the code for the local era. |
Specify a local era name of up to 20 alphanumeric characters. |
Enter a start date for the local era, using western calendar dates. |
To set a local era as the default, select one and choose Default. |

When you use local era dates, Western calendar dates do not change.
