Message

Make sure that the consumed quantity of the component item would not cause the item's inventory to fall below zero

Diagnosis

  1. You defined a bill of material for your product, for example, Item100.

  2. In the Item Master Data window, you defined the Issue Method for one of the component items, for example, Item001, as Backflush.

  3. On the Document Settings — General tab, you selected the Block Negative Inventory By checkbox.

  4. You added a production order for the product Item100.

You defined the Planned Quantity of the component Item001. The planned quantity subtracted from the items-in-stock quantity would cause the item's inventory to fall into negative, according to your definition of negative inventory level.

For more information about defining the negative inventory level, see the explanation for Block Negative Inventory By in Document Settings: General Tab.

  5. You set the production order's status to Released.

  6. You chose   Production   Receipt from Production   and then chose the Production Order button to select the production order you just added.

  7. You chose the Add button.

Procedure

Do one of the following:

  • On the Document Settings – General tab, deselect the Block Negative Inventory By checkbox.

  • Make sure that the quantity of the component item consumed in production, subtracted from its in-stock quantity, does not result in a negative value.
