Message

Cannot remove a sales employee that is already in use

Diagnosis

  1. From the SAP Business One Main Menu, you choose   Administration   Setup   General   Sales Employees/Buyers  .

  2. In the Sales Employees/Buyers - Setup window, you try to remove a sales employee. However, as the sales employee is either related to an employee or at least one business partner or both, or is used in at least one marketing document, inventory transfer document, or closed inventory transfer request, you cannot remove it.

Procedure

The link between a sales employee and an employee or a business partner can be removed. However, the link to a marketing document or inventory document is irreversible.

  1. Open the Sales Employees/Buyers - Setup window and go to the row of the sales employee that you want to remove.

  2. In the Employee field, check if an employee is listed. If so, delete the employee's name in this field to remove the sales employee's link with the employee.

  3. Try to remove the sales employee once again. If it cannot be removed, proceed to Step 4.

  4. In the Business Partner Master Data window, on the General tab, check if any business partner is related to the sales employee you want to remove. If so, remove the sales employee's link with the business partner.

  5. In the Sales Employees/Buyers - Setup window, try once again to remove the sales employee.

Result

One of the following occurs:

  • The sales employee is removed.

  • The sales employee still cannot be removed. This means the sales employee has already been used in a document and cannot be removed.
