Message

Quantity exceeds maximum stock level

Diagnosis

You have tried to add a document for an incoming quantity of an item. This addition would cause the available quantity of the item to exceed the maximum defined for this item in the Maximum field on the Inventory Data tab in   Inventory   Item Master Data  .

Procedure

If required, choose one of the following options, depending on your company's needs and working methods:

  • Change (temporarily) the maximum quantity defined for the specific item, add the document, and change the maximum quantity back to the previous definition.

  • From the SAP Business One Main Menu, choose   Administration   System Initialization   Document Settings   and select the General tab.

  • In the section Response to Release of Inventory below the Minimum Level, select any option other than the currently selected Block Release.
