Copy Express 

Purpose

SAP Business One Copy Express allows you to copy company configuration information from one company to another within the SAP Business One environment. Copy Express addresses the needs of both novice and expert users.

You must have superuser permissions to copy data records with Copy Express.

You must grant write permission for all users in the SAP Business One server folder B1_shr.

Before starting Copy Express, ensure that you have installed the following software on your computer:

§         SAP Business One

§         SAP Business One DI API

§         SAP Business One UI API

Implementation Considerations

You should install and use Copy Express when you wish to copy company configuration from one SAP Business One database to another.

Integration

Copy Express utilizes both the DI and UI APIs. A running SAP Business One company database must also be available.

File Types

Copy Express creates two types of data file:

·        Worksheets (XML format) – contain information about the selections made by the user. For example, configuration information and references to the data records that you wish to copy to a target company – does not contain the record data itself. Worksheets always belong to a certain database or configuration file. You can only open a worksheet if you have access to the associated database or configuration file.

As the process of selecting data records can take some time, saving your selections in a worksheet allows you to continue with selection process at a later time.

·        Configuration file (XML format) – contains configuration information, references, and the complete data that you wish to copy to the target company. For example, if you were copying records from a source database to a target database at a remote location, this is the file you would take with you.

Constraints

Copy Express utilizes both the DI and UI APIs. A running SAP Business One company database must also be available.

·        Copy Express does not provide external data editing capabilities.

·        Copy Express does not support data transfer between other SAP Business One add-ons.
