Authorizations can be overridden in specific circumstances. For example, if a manager is out of the office, he can permit one of his staff to add a document on a one time basis. In addition, this function permits those without authorizations to view reports and other windows to which they may not otherwise have access. The user who lacks permissions is challenged each time for the overriding permissions.

Prerequisites

To display windows that the user may not have permission to display, choose the Main Menu - Settings icon from the toolbar and make all of the required options Visible.

Procedure

  1. Open the required document. A system message displays stating that the user does not have permission to perform this action.

  2. Choose Authorization by Another User.

  3. Enter the user name (code) and password of the manager or user with the required permissions.

  4. The transaction is then completed as required.
