Analytics and reporting of revenue recognition is necessary for users and stakeholders to monitor, review, and forecast their revenues and costs. Some accounting principles require that the company provides certain analytics reports in its disclosure of revenue. Additionally, analytics reports may help you with strategic decisions.

Several reports are available that address the most typical reporting scenarios. Additionally, you can use these reports as samples for developing your own reports.

  • Disaggregation of revenue:

    Your company may have to disaggregate revenue into different categories, such as the performance obligation type. The sample reports allow you to display revenue data of a specific accounting period, aggregated by the following dimensions:

    • Customer

    • Customer group

    • Performance obligation type

  • Posted amounts

    Reports are available that display the original prices, allocated prices, posted revenue, invoiced amount, and other important amounts for contracts and performance obligations of each period. The resulting items are aggregated by the following dimensions:

    • Contract

    • Performance obligation type
