Subsequent Changes
The Revenue Accounting system applies some automatic changes following changes made to revenue accounting contracts, including the following:
Price reallocation
The system triggers a price reallocation if the changes affect price allocation. For example, if you change the standalone selling price of a performance obligation, the system performs price allocation for the contract again according to the new standalone selling price.
Revenue schedule changes
If fulfillments have already occurred on the contract that has been updated and if the fulfillments have not been posted, the system automatically updates the revenue schedule to accommodate the changes.
Retrospective adjustments
If fulfillments have already occurred on the contract that has been updated and if the fulfillments have already been posted, the system automatically performs retrospective adjustments. The actual adjustment postings are created when you run a revenue posting job.
