Procedure documentationSchedule Posting to Recur

Procedure

Proceed as follows:

  1. In the NetWeaver Business Client, select a role that allows you to perform revenue accounting tasks.

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Revenue Posting Run Next navigation step Post Periodically End of the navigation path.

  3. Enter company codes for which you want to make revenue postings.

    Note Note

You can add additional search criteria to select multiple company codes. You can also select a range of company codes. The system interprets ranges of company codes on an alphanumeric basis. For example, if you use the Is Between operator and enter A000 and A099, the posting job includes company codes A000 through A099 .

    End of the note.
  4. Enter an accounting principle. You can perform revenue posting for only one accounting principle at a time.

  5. The Include Contract Liabilities and Assets checkbox is deselected by default. If you want to post contract liabilities and assets, select the checkbox.

  6. In the Job Name text box, enter a job name that describes the current posting job.

  7. Enter a start date. You can specify a date for the first run. If you choose to post monthly, the system uses the day of the month of the first run to formulate the posting date for each month thereafter. If the specified day does not exist in a certain month, the system automatically shifts the posting job to an earlier date. For example, if you specify October 31, 2013 as the start date and choose to post every month, for the following month, the system runs the posting job on November 30, 2013.

  8. Enter a start time for the posting job.

  9. Depending on your recurrence pattern, proceed as follows:

    1. For the Recurrence Pattern option, you can choose to post daily, weekly, or monthly.

    2. In the Interval in Days, Interval in Weeks, or Interval in Months text box, you can specify the number of days, weeks, or months respectively between two posting jobs.

    Recurrence Pattern

    Job Run Date

    Posting Date

    Daily

The planned periodic posting runs every fixed number of days after the start date. In the Interval in Days text box, you can specify the number of days between two posting jobs.

The posting date is the job run date.

    Weekly

The planned periodic posting runs on the same day of the week as the start date. In the Interval in Weeks text box, you can specify the number of weeks between two posting jobs.

The posting date is the job run date.

    Monthly

The planned periodic posting runs on the same day of the month as the start date. In the Interval in Months text box, you can specify the number of months between two posting jobs.

The month part of the posting date is formulated as follows:

    • If you select Period as of job run time for the Month of Posting Date option, the month of posting date is the same as the month of the job run date.

    • If you select Period prior to job run time for the Month of Posting Date option, the month of posting date is the month prior to the month of the job run date.

For the Day of Month option, specify a certain day of the month as the day part of the posting date.

    • If the Day of Month option is 31 in monthly recurrence pattern mode, the posting date is always the last day of each month.

    • If the Day of Month option is 29 or 30 in monthly recurrence pattern mode, the system reports an error when 29 or 30 does not exist in a given month.

  10. The Number of Intervals option is a technical parameter that controls the parallel processing of the posting job. In most scenarios, you can leave the default value.

    Note Note

This setting sets the number of parallel jobs that the system runs to perform revenue posting. For systems that have large numbers of processing units, you can increase the value to improve the performance.

    End of the note.
  11. Choose OK.
