Procedure documentationEnabling the Display of Changes in the RW System using Audit Trail

 

You use the SAP NetWeaver Audit Trail component to display the following changes in the ILM Retention Warehouse system:

  • Archived change documents for data from audit packages

  • Changes to tables and long texts made in the RW system (such as changes to ILM rules)

You can call up change logs (transaction S_AUT10) for each audit package in a legacy system. To use Audit Trail, authorizations and Customizing settings are necessary.

Procedure

  1. Assign the authorizations required for using Audit Trail.

  2. No Customizing settings are necessary if you only want to use Audit Trail to display archived change documents.

    If you also want to use Audit Trail to log and display changes to tables and long texts, you need to switch on logging in the RW system. You call up the Customizing settings for Audit Trail in the SAP Implementation Guide (IMG) under the following path: Start of the navigation path SAP NetWeaver Next navigation step Application Server Next navigation step Basis Services Next navigation step Audit Trail End of the navigation path.

  3. Ensure that the archive infostructures required for Audit Trail have been activated and filled (transaction SARI):

    • SAP_CHANGEDOCU1 for change logs

    • SAP_BC_DBLOGS for table logs

    • SAP_S_AUT_LTXTS for long text logs
