Display Status and Trend In addition to displayed and changed data, the system uses icons to represent the
status
and
trend
of individual metrics value types.
Note
The status and trend can only be displayed for metrics that are linked to a key figure definition and are therefore filled with values from a portfolio item or an initiative.
The
status
of a metrics value type is defined by the Customizing settings in the
value range
for the corresponding
key figure definition
.
The direction of the key figure specifies the order in which statuses change when threshold values are exceeded or if they are not reached.
Key figure with a negative direction, such as costs:
the higher the value of the key figure, the worse the key figure is
. A negative key figure has the status
if a threshold value that has been defined as low as possible is reached. Key figure with a positive direction, such as sales:
the higher the value of the key figure, the better the key figure is
. A positive key figure has the status
if a threshold value that has been defined as high as possible is reached.
The trend for a metrics value type simply reflects how the last two values of a metric have changed.
The following icons are possible:

|---|---|
|
Status according to the Customizing definition for the threshold values of a key figure. |

Trend calculated from the last two metrics values. The system manages a history of the metrics values and displays the trend. |
If you have defined an alert for a particular status or status change in the key figure definition, the system issues a message if the data of an initiative or portfolio item changes, for example, if the total planned costs are changed in the financial planning data.
