You can use the side panel of the Business Context Viewer (BCV) to display a comparison of the planned versus the confirmed time for a task or a whole project. This gives you an overview of the current progress of the project. You can access the side panel in the structure tree of the project or by selecting a task in the structure tree and choosing Additional Information on Resources.

Prerequisites

You have activated the Enhanced Capital and Resource Mgmt Switch in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management under Start of the navigation path Portfolio Management Next navigation step Global Customizing Next navigation step Global Settings Next navigation step Check Global Settings End of the navigation path. If you want to display the confirmation graphics in the Structure view on task level, CATS confirmation must be active and you must use the task-based confirmation scenario. If you want to display the confirmation graphics in the Resources view, CATS confirmation must be active and you must use the role-based confirmation scenario.

The following graphics are available:

  • Structure view

    • Project

      Planned Versus Confirmed Time

      Displays the planned versus the confirmed time for a task in a column chart containing one column for the planned time and one column for the confirmed time. The sum of all task-role assignments is displayed on the y-axis: depending on the confirmation scenario, the system displays either the roles or the tasks on the x-axis. The second graphic displays the sum of all task-role assignments grouped according to the parent object. If you use the task-based confirmation scenario, the superordinate object is the phase. If you use the role-based confirmation scenario, the superordinate object is the project.

    • Task

      • Comparison of Planned Vs. Confirmed Data for Task

        Displays the planned versus the confirmed time for a task in a column chart containing one column for the planned time and one column for the confirmed time. The sum of all task-role assignments is displayed on the y-axis: the task is displayed on the x-axis.

      • Confirmed Times of Business Partner

        Displays the confirmed data of a business partner per task in a single column.

  • Resources view

    • Comparison of Planned Vs. Confirmed Data for Role

      Displays the planned versus the confirmed time for a role in a column chart containing one column for the planned time and one column for the confirmed time. The sum of all task-role assignments is displayed on the y-axis: the role is displayed on the x-axis.

    • Confirmed Times of Business Partner

      Displays the confirmed data of a business partner per task in a single column.

You can use the BAdI DPR_BCV_RES to define your own settings for the BCV display.
