The Business Context Viewer (BCV) comes delivered with predefined business content for the analysis of materials. You can enhance this standard content and configure BCV for your own business needs. For more information, see Configuring Business Context Viewer (BCV).

Features

Predefined Query Views

On the Query Views tab of the side panel on the user interface (UI), you can find the predefined SAP Business Content query list. For more information about the query views that are available in Portfolio Management, see Customizing under Start of the navigation path Cross Application Components Next navigation step Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications Next navigation step Business Context Viewer Next navigation step User Interface End of the navigation path.

You can use the following query views:

  • ECV Chart: displays the expected commercial value of the portfolio elements in a portfolio chart. Query views are available for item and initiative ECV reporting.

  • Risk Reward Chart (A vs. B Portfolio Chart): displays the expected commercial value of the portfolio elements in a portfolio chart in relation to the risk of the portfolio elements. The x- and the y-axis define the criteria which shall be compared (for example, risk on the x-axis, ECV on the y-axis). In addition, you can define the size of the bubbles by different criteria. Query views are available for item and initiative risk reporting.

  • Schedule Chart: (Complex Gantt Chart): displays the actual, planned and forecasted dates of portfolio elements in a Gantt chart. Three date ranges are available here. The query views are available for item and initiative schedule reporting.

  • Phase DP Schedule Chart : displays the timelines for the planned, actual and forecasted dates of a phase/decision point. Query view are available for the Phase DP Schedule Chart of an item.

  • Financial and Capacity Planning Chart: displays the financial and capacity data in a graphical format for all categories, selected category or selected category group. Query views are available for both financial and capacity planning charts.

  • Financial Reporting of Items: provides information about the following figures:

    • Planned costs

    • Actual costs

    • Commitment

    • Budget

    • Planned revenue

    • Actual revenue

    • Actual time

    • Planned time

    You can define which breakdown for the subtotals shall be used. The following subtotal criteria are available:

    • Fiscal year

    • Object type

    • Task

    • Period

The delivered standard in SAP Portfolio and Project Management contains a pie chart, a column chart, and a table with the relevant data. The subtotals are displayed in the table which contains also a grand total. Query views for each combination of chart type, financial figures and subtotal criteria are available.

Predefined Dashboards

On the Dashboards tab of the side panel of the UI, you can find the predefined dashboards you can use in Portfolio Management. You can use the following dashboards:

  • Reporting cockpit for items and initiatives: available for each reporting cockpit for items and reporting cockpit for initiatives in the following areas:

    • Portfolio

    • Review

    • Bucket

    • Collection

    • Initiative

    • What-If

    The dashboards contain the query views for the ECV chart, schedule chart and risk reward charts.

  • Financial reporting

    The following dashboards are available for financial reporting of an item:

    • Breakdown per Fiscal Year

    • Breakdown per Object Type

    • Breakdown per Period

    • Breakdown per Task

    Each of these dashboards contains graphics, pie charts, and bar charts for the available figures (planned cost and so on). In each dashboard, an ALV table with the overall information is displayed.

  • Financial and capacity reporting

    Dashboards for financial and capacity planning data charts are available.

  • Phase/ decision point schedule chart

    A dashboard for schedule data of items is available which contains the query view for schedule chart of an item.
