Function documentationImport from Project System

 

You can import data from Project System to Portfolio Management. During import, the data of the project in Project System is mapped to the Project Management project that is linked to the portfolio item. Which data is transferred during import depends on the Customizing settings and the selections you made under Data for Import. The data of the project definition in Project System is mapped to the Project Management project definition. During import, the phase TASKHIERARCHY is created in the Project Management project below which the structure elements of the Project System project are created.

If you select Resources during import, the system creates roles for network activities and network activity elements in the Project Management project. If you select Resource Assignments during import, the roles in the Project Management project are staffed by the resources of the work center assigned to the network activities and network activity elements.

Prerequisites

You have linked the portfolio item to a Project Management project. You have accessed the Import Project screen by choosing Start of the navigation path You Can Also Next navigation step Import Project End of the navigation path on the item details screen on the Overview view.

Activities

  • You select Project System from the Application dropdown list.

  • You select the Application System.

  • You choose Browse to select the required Project.

  • You choose data for import by selecting one of the following:

    • Structure Only

    • Structure and Resources

    • Structure, Resources, and Resource Assignments

  • You choose Check to display the messages that were caused by the import. Then you choose Import to finish the import.
