You can create object links to existing business objects in external systems or Project Management. You can also plan object links, for example, to objects that do not yet exist, and link the objects at a later point in time.

Activities

Creating an Object Link to an Existing Object
  1. Navigate to the details screen of the item or initiative that you want to link to another business object.

  2. Select the Relationships view, and then choose the Object Links subview.

  3. In the Object Type dropdown list, select the object type for which you want to create a link.

    Ensure that the Identify Object Later checkbox is not selected.

  4. Choose Add Objects.

  5. In the search popup window, enter the search parameters and choose Find.

  6. Select one or more objects to be linked and choose OK.

  7. Save your changes.

Planning an Object Link to an Unidentified Object
  1. Navigate to the details screen of the item or initiative that you want to link to another business object.

  2. Select the Relationships view, and then choose the Object Links subview.

  3. In the Object Type dropdown list, select the object type for which you want to create a link.

  4. Select the Identify Object Later checkbox, and choose Add Objects.

    An object link is set up and marked as Object not yet identified. You can edit this link at a later point in time. For more information, see Object Link Editing.

  5. Save your changes.
