User AdministrationUser administration is one of the three administration functions in cFolders. The user administrator makes all settings for managing users here, for example, for creating, changing, and copying users. He or she can choose between Central User Administration and local user administration in cFolders.
You have been assigned the user administrator role (SAP_CFX_USER_ADMINISTRATOR
).
The system only displays the User Administration
function in the overview tree if you have user administration authorization.
You can make the following settings under User Administration
:
On the User
tab page you can:
Use the assistant to simplify the creation of a new user
The system requires a minimum of information. You call the assistant by choosing Create
in the Functions for Local User Maintenance
screen area. In the subsequent dialog, you can navigate backwards and forwards as necessary, to enter or edit data. Once you have entered all the data, choose Finish
. The system now creates the user. It also generates a password for the new user in the background. The user automatically receives an e-mail with his or her logon data.
Copy a user by selecting an existing user record as a template
Note
When you copy a user by means of a template, the system also copies all settings and authorizations.
Change the data for a selected user
On the change screen, you can also delete the user or reset the password. When you delete a user, all of the user’s authorizations, favorites, and WebEx meetings are deleted automatically. When you reset a password, the system generates a new password automatically and sends it to the user by e-mail.
Activate C
entral User Administration
When you set the Activate Central User Administration
indicator, you connect cFolders to Central User Administration
in the SAP User Management Engine (UME)
in the SAP Enterprise Portal
. If the indicator has been set, it is only possible to display the general user data in cFolders (for example, surname). You now make changes in Central User Administration
and export the changed data to cFolders. However, all purely cFolders-specific user data can still be changed in cFolders even if Central User Administration
is active.
On the Standard Settings
tab page:
Define the default settings for users that will be created
The default settings defined by the user administrator here are the default settings for each user when they enter cFolders. However, the relevant user can tailor these default settings to his or her individual requirements via the Settings
menu.
