Object documentationTemplates

Templates define the basic structure of an object.

When carrying out projects you must take into consideration externally defined structures, such as norms or general regulations on the one hand, and internal standards such as procedure instructions or rules on the other. To accommodate these requirements you can create templates that you can use every time you create a project. This allows you to better standardize your projects.

You can create templates for the following objects:

  • Projects

  • Checklists

  • Control plans

  • Documents

You can create templates as follows:

  • Without a template

  • Based on an existing template (for project and checklist templates only)

  • Based on an operational project or a checklist in an operational project (for project or checklist templates only)

For more information, see Creating a Template.

Note Note

If you implement method ADD_DATA4PROJ_TEMPL of BAdI: Check/Change Fields in Project Management, you can define the additional fields of the operational project that are available in the project template. For more information, see Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management under Start of the navigation path Project Management Next navigation step Global Enhancements to Project Elements Next navigation step Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) Next navigation step BAdI: Check/Change Fields in Project Management End of the navigation path.

End of the note.

Integration

Each template has a status. For more information see Status Management and Status of Templates.
