Procedure documentationAssigning Administration Authorization

Here you can create administration authorization for individual users. This is possible for the object categories user group, document, and project.

Prerequisites

To create new authorizations, a role or profile that contains the authorizations for the authorization object Create Administration Authorizations for Each Object Type (ACO_OTYPE) must be assigned to your user in the user master (SU01).

You also require change authorization for the project, user group, or document or you need superuser authorization. For more information, see Superuser .

Procedure

  1. Select an object category.

  2. Select the required object or enter its name in the relevant input field and choose Enter.

The system checks whether the object exists and if it does, displays the existing authorizations in a table. If the object does not exist, the system issues an error message.

  3. Select a user or enter the name of the user in the relevant input field and choose Enter.

The system checks whether the user exists. If the user does not exist, the system issues an error message.

  4. Choose Create Authorization to create a new authorization.

    Note Note

You can only create a new administration authorization once the object and user have been correctly selected or entered.

If the user is already entered as an administrator, the system issues an error message.

    End of the note.
  5. Choose Save to save the authorization you created to the database.

Result

The system adds the new administration authorization to the table of existing authorizations and issues a success message.

Note Note

The table is only displayed in change mode here.

End of the note.

Example

You can select the object category user group and then select an object using the input help. Enter the required user in the relevant input field. The system checks whether the user exists. If the check is successful, choose Create Authorization; this button is now active. The system then calls the table of authorizations again and displays the new authorization in the table.
