Vertical Synchronization
You use vertical synchronization to synchronize various aspects of objects within a single application (that is, either Portfolio Management or Project Management). This means, that when you change an object in the application, the same changes are carried out in a related object within the same application. For more information, see Synchronization.

The table below outlines which objects in Portfolio Management you can synchronize with each other:

You determine which objects are synchronized (and in which direction) with regard to attributes, statuses, and authorizations.
When you create an item under an initiative, you can predefine the item type that should be used for a particular initiative type. In addition, you can define which decision points of the initiative are mapped to which decision points of an associated item. You define the mapping between initiative
types and item types in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management
