Function documentationVertical Synchronization

You use vertical synchronization to synchronize various aspects of objects within a single application (that is, either Portfolio Management or Project Management). This means, that when you change an object in the application, the same changes are carried out in a related object within the same application. For more information, see Synchronization.

Prerequisites

You have carried out the following Customizing activities for SAP Portfolio and Project Management under:

  • Start of the navigation path Common Functions Next navigation step Decision Flow Management Settings Next navigation step Define DFM Object Link Types End of the navigation path

  • Start of the navigation path Common Functions Next navigation step Decision Flow Management Settings Next navigation step Maintain Objects for Synchronization End of the navigation path

  • All activities under:

Synchronization Pairs

The table below outlines which objects in Portfolio Management you can synchronize with each other:

Object

Item Decision Point

You determine which objects are synchronized (and in which direction) with regard to attributes, statuses, and authorizations.

Mapping Initiative Types with Item Types

When you create an item under an initiative, you can predefine the item type that should be used for a particular initiative type. In addition, you can define which decision points of the initiative are mapped to which decision points of an associated item. You define the mapping between initiative types and item types in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management under Start of the navigation path Portfolio Management Next navigation step Global Customizing Next navigation step Portfolio-Independent Settings Next navigation step Define Initiative Types End of the navigation path.
