Function documentationDefinition of Qualifications

 

You can set down the qualifications required for a role or a particular task.

Integration

You define qualifications for tasks on the Projects screen in the Structure view in the task definition Qualifications. For more information, see Defining Qualifications.

You define qualifications for roles on the Projects screen in theQualifications sub view of the Resources view . For more information, see Defining Qualifications.

Qualifications you have already defined are displayed in the resource search (see resource search) and are used as selection criteria for finding suitable resources. For more information, see Selection According to Qualifications.

Prerequisites

To be able to select qualifications, you must have defined the qualifications catalog in Customizing. To do this, perform the activities in Customizing for Project Management under Start of the navigation path Resource Management Next navigation step Qualification Management Next navigation step Edit Qualifications Catalog End of the navigation path.

To be able to define proficiencies for the qualifications, you must have defined scales in Customizing. To do this, perform the activities in Customizing for Project Management under Start of the navigation path Resource Management Next navigation step Qualification Management Next navigation step Edit Scales End of the navigation path.

Features

The qualifications catalog represents all qualifications that you can assign to roles or tasks.

The Qualification Requirements group box displays the qualifications that are already assigned to the role or task. You can create new qualifications.

You can define the following attributes for each qualification:

  • If the selected qualification is an essential prerequisite, you can flag it as a mandatory qualification.

    The resource search then only selects resources that have this qualification.

  • You can define the necessary proficiency for each qualification.

    In the resource search, the system calculates a resource's suitability percentage from the difference between the required proficiency of a qualification and the degree to which the resource fulfills this.

You can delete qualifications at any time. For more information, see Deleting Qualifications.
