Function documentationDeactivation of Object Types

You can deactivate the following object types:

  1. Project type

  2. Phase type

  3. Checklist type

  4. Task type

In Customizing for Project Management, deselect the Active indicator under Structure

  5. Define Project Types

  6. Define Phase Types

  7. Define Checklist Types

  8. Define Task Types

    Note Note

A deactivated object type no longer appears as a value for selection when you create a new object. If an existing object uses an object type that was deactivated after the object was created, this object type is still visible and can be selected.

If an object uses an object type that is not active and you change the object type, save your changes, and then want to undo your changes afterwards, you must activate this object type again in Customizing before you can undo your changes.

If an object uses an object type that is not active, the system continues to display the object type in this object.

The BAdI DPR_DEACTIVATE_TYPES provides you with more options for deactivating object types. For more information, see the documentation for the BAdI.

    End of the note.

    Note Note

If you create objects with a template or copy objects from templates or other objects in the project, the system copies the existing object type. The system does not check whether the Active indicator is selected for this object type. Therefore, we recommend that the administrator checks the project and checklist templates for objects types that are not active and should no longer be used and adjusts the templates accordingly.

    End of the note.
