Integration with Object Navigator
With this function, you can create object links between SAP Portfolio and Project Management and SAP Product Lifecycle Management (SAP PLM). The following object link types are available in SAP PLM:
0PLMCOREMAT: Material in PLM Web UI
0PLMCORERCP: Recipe in PLM Web UI
You create these object links in SAP Portfolio and Project Management. They lead to the object navigator in the PLM or SAP Portfolio and Project Management system to display all linked objects. For materials, for example, you can display all related objects, such as linked SAP Portfolio and Project Management objects, documents or bill of material and you can navigate to these objects. For the SAP Portfolio and Project Management objects, you can display the linked materials and recipes. You can use the object navigator to display the links to other object types and their data. You can connect one SAP Portfolio and Project Management to multiple SAP PLM systems. An SAP PLM system can only be connected to one SAP Portfolio and Project Management system. This is shown in the graphic below:

The object navigator is available in both the SAP PLM system and the SAP Portfolio and Project Management system.
You have installed enhancement package 5 of SAP ERP 6.0.
You have connected the SAP Portfolio and Project Management system with the SAP PLM system.
You have activated the following business functions:
/PLMU/WEB_UI_2 for material
/PLMU/RCP_1 for recipe
You have created a material or recipe in the SAP PLM system.
Note
For more information about the technical prerequisites, see SAP Solution Manager Content for SAP Portfolio and Project Management 5.0.
You can display the following objects that are linked to the selected material or recipe:
Project Management
Projects
Phases
Tasks
Portfolio Management
Items
Initiatives
You can display the linked object in two different ways if one SAP PLM system is connected to one SAP Portfolio and Project Management system (the same applies if you connect several SAP PLM systems to one SAP Portfolio and Project Management system).
From the SAP Portfolio and Project Management system, you can do the following:
Display the data of the linked object on the Relationships
view in Portfolio Management or the Object Links
tab in Project Management by choosing Open
in the Application
column. The system opens the object navigator of the material or recipe in the SAP PLM system and shows a detailed view of the material.
Choose to display a detailed view of the data of the linked object in the SAP PLM system. When you choose Display in Object Navigator
, the system displays the object navigator of the SAP Portfolio and Project Management object, for example a project. When you choose the Linked Material or Linked Recipe
tab, the system opens the object navigator of the material or recipe in the SAP Portfolio and Project Management system. These tabs contain the linked recipes and materials to the current object from all linked SAP PLM systems. Within this object navigator, you can view the most important detail data of the PLM object and you can also navigate to the detail of the linked object in the PLM system.
The system reads the material data via RFC call from the PLM system.
In the SAP PLM system, you can display the linked objects on the Linked Portf. and Proj. Mgmt Objects
tab. All object types linked to material or recipe are listed on this tab. The table only shows common data of the SAP Portfolio and Project Management objects such as object type, object ID, start and finish. You can display the most important detail data for each object type by selecting the row and choosing Show Details. The system displays the detail data below the table.
You can use the context menu for the following activities:
Display the linked object in its original system by choosing Display <Object>
in the context menu. The system displays further details to the object, such as documents, authorizations, and so on.
Display the linked object in the object navigator by choosing Display in Object Navigator
in the context menu. The system displays the object on a screen with its connections to other object types.
