Features

Two output formats are available for exporting multilevel product structures:

  • CSV format

For CSV format, the system supports the export of data in files with the following content:

    • BOM structures

    • Materials

    • Document attributes

    • Approved manufacturer parts

    • Manufacturer parts

  • XML format in accordance with the XML schema for the IPC-2571 and IPC-2578 standards within a PDX package

It is also possible to import a BOM from a PDX XML file contained in a PDX package.

Activities

For exporting a BOM version in CSV format, on the overview screen of the BOM version, you choose Export and choose the type of content from the dropdown box. You enter your chosen explosion level or leave the field blank if you always want the BOM structure to be exploded fully. In the Field Selection Profile field, you select the profile that you defined in Customizing. Depending on the type of export, you can select attributes of different cFolders elements and the attribute for displaying the column header. If you do not enter a file extension, the system uses CSV . If you do not enter a file type, the system uses application/msexcel.

Note Note

Document links in the cFolders BOMs and items are exported as attachment elements below the BillOfMaterial and BillOfMaterialItem elements that are not contained in the DTD (Document Type Description) according to IPC-2571 and therefore do not correspond to the standardization.

These settings are saved for each export type in the user settings and will be available again for the next export.

End of the note.
