Integration

The following dependencies exist between the status of phases and the status of the project definition:

The release of the project definition leads to the release of the first phase of the project. Phases can only be released if the project definition has been released and is not locked.

Phases may only be added, modified, or deleted if the project definition has the status Created or Released. New phases cannot be inserted before or between phases that have already been approved.

Once a phase has been approved, the next phase is released.

If a phase has not been approved, the project cannot be completed, only canceled. The next phase is not released.

Locking a phase does not influence the status of the project definition. When a project definition is locked or unlocked, the status Locked is not set or removed for the released phases.

The project definition can only be completed if the last phase has been approved.

If a project definition, phase, or template is locked, no dependent data (for example, checklist items) can be changed either. The project definition can only be unlocked.
