Configuring the Search for Portal Pages and
iViews 
In order to be able to search for portal pages and iViews, you must perform several configuration steps in your role as an administrator:

● You add a new entry to the index management service.
● You create a new index and assign the PCD repository to it. Because this is not displayed by default in the root directory, you have to make it visible first and then hide it again.

1. Launch the configuration of the index management service. In the portal, choose System Administration ® System Configuration ® Knowledge Management ® Content Management ® Global Services ® (Show Advanced Options) ® Index Management Service.
2. Choose Edit and in the Index Services parameter, select the portalRolesSearch entry.
3. Choose OK to save your entries.
4. Restart the J2EE Engine.

1. Launch the configuration of the PCD repository manager. In the portal, choose System Administration ® System Configuration ® Knowledge Management ® Content Management ® Repository Managers ® (Show Advanced Options) ® PCD Repository.
2. Choose Edit and deactivate the Hide in Root Folder parameter.
3. Choose OK to save your entries.

1. Launch index management. In the portal, choose System Administration ® System Configuration ® Knowledge Management ® Content Management ® Index Administration.
2. Create a new index with the following parameters:
ID = portalRolesSearch
Name = Portal Pages and iViews
Group = Optional entry
Crawler Parameter = No entry
Service = Portal Roles Search
What to Index = Documents

Do not choose the services TREX Search or TREX Search and Classification for indexing. Otherwise, the search results would also contain iViews and portal pages that are not part of the role of the logged-on user. This would lead to errors in the navigation.

In index administration and in the indexing monitor, the index created appears with the status red. In addition, there are no statistical values for this index. This is not an error because the index created is not managed by TREX.
3. You then choose the /pcd repository from the Data Sources and save the index. A schedule for automatic indexing is not required.

2. Choose Edit and activate the Hide in Root Folderparameter.

You have completed all configuration steps that are necessary to allow you to search for portal pages and iViews in your roles.
In the search field, enter the name, ID, or description of a portal page or iView. In the search results list, you only have to click a hit to automatically go to the corresponding portal page.
