This authorization specifies whether you are allowed to execute a specific status transition.
If you have authorization for the status transition Release, you can change the status of a document that is assigned to the status profile for this status transition from Being checked to Released.
To set an object that has a specific status (such as Being checked) to another status (such as Released), you must have transition authorization for the status transition (for example, status transition Release). You have transition authorization if you have write authorization for the object.
Transition authorizations can also be defined explicitly in the status profile. In this case, only these explicitly authorized users are permitted to execute the status transition (assuming they have at least read authorization for the object). For information on how object authorizations defined in a status profile affect status transitions, see Object Authorizations per Status.
