Any type of file can be a document. A document can also be saved in different versions so that you can tell when the version was created and by whom.
The documents in a work area are copies of the corresponding documents in the public area that were made when the work area was created.
Later changes to the documents in the public area are not automatically transferred to the work area, meaning that you may not be working with the latest version. To ensure that you are working with the latest version of a document, click the link Display the latest version of file from its origin on the document overview screen or check the content of the document in the public area. If the document has been changed, ask the administrator to send the file to you.
