Creating an Example-Based
Taxonomy 
You create an example-based taxonomy in
order to be able to classify documents on the basis of example documents (see
Classification
(Classifying Documents).
When you create an example-based taxonomy, you have two options:
· Creating a new folder hierarchy
You want to create an example-based taxonomy and corrsponding folder structure from scratch. That is, you do not want to use an existing folder hierarchy for the taxonomy.
· Using an existing folder hierarchy
You want to create an example-based taxonomy based on an existing folder hierarchy.

Assign the data sources that contain the relevant example documents to the index |
Train the categories of the taxonomy using the existing folder hierarchy (automatic assignment of data sources to index) |

Train the categories of the taxonomy manually using example documents |

Reindex by data source |
|
|
Assign further data sources to the
index |
|
|
Result: A taxonomy is created. |
