Exporting and Deploying PAR Files 

Use

To export and deploy a PAR file, you can use the PAR Export function in SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.

 

Prerequisites

In SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio, the Enterprise Portal toolbar is activated. If it has not yet been activated, choose Window ® Open Perspective ® Other ® Enterprise Portal.

 

Procedure

Carry out the following steps:

 

       1.      In the Enterprise Portal toolbar, choose the icon with the quick info text Create/Export Par File. The PAR Export dialog box opens.

 

       2.      Choose the project that contains the classes that you want to deploy.

 

       3.      Specify a name for the PAR file and choose Deploy PAR.

A list of portal servers appears. Choose the portal that you want to deploy the PAR file in. If the portal is not listed, choose Configure Server Settings… to add a portal connection to the list.

 

If you are operating KM in a load-balancing environment, you must deploy the PAR file on the central instance for the cluster.

 

       4.      Choose Finish.

The PAR file is generated automatically and exported to the selected portal.

 

       5.      After deploying the file, restart the SAP J2EE Engine for the portal in question.
