The following functions are available for maintaining roles and worksets within the Role and Workset Editors:

Moves an object up or down within a folder.

Delete

Deletes selected objects from the role or workset structure.

Cut, Copy, Paste

Selected objects can be cut or copied and pasted to other locations in the structure hierarchy.

Properties

Displays the properties of an object in the Property Editor.

Edit

Allows you to make local changes to an object. These changes are only relevant within the role or workset in which the change was made. The source object is not changed.

Trace Delta Links

Finds the delta link origins and dependant objects of the selected object. For more information see Structure linkTracing Delta Link Dependencies.

New Folder

Creates new folders within a structure.

Entire role or workset

Reset Node

Cancels all local changes made to linked objects.

Refresh Node

Updates nodes within a role or workset hierarchy.

Any node within a role or workset hierarchy; may also be the root node

Save

Saves changes made in the Property Editor.

Closes the Role or Workset Editor.

Entire role or workset

Preview

Displays a preview of the iViews and pages contained in roles or worksets.

iViews and pages

Refresh

Updates the entire Role or Workset Editor and the Property Editor, together with their contents.

Edit Mode

Opens an object in Edit Mode. Used when a role or workset opens in read-only mode (because the object is locked by another user). See also Structure linkLocking Objects (Lock Scenarios).

CTRL + click on object

By pressing CTRL and simultaneously clicking on an object, you can select multiple objects on the same level and then delete all the selected objects.

The above functions can also be accessed by right-clicking an object in the Role Editor or Workset Editor and selecting the relevant option from the context menu.

 

Note

You can go to the Permission Editor from the Role Editor or Workset Editor. From the Display dropdown list, choose Permissions.
