Procedure documentation Changing Roles and Worksets Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

When you change roles and worksets you can:

Change the structure, for example you can delete entries in the hierarchy or add new entries

Change the properties of roles and worksets with the Property Editor

When changing a role or workset, keep in mind that other objects could be derived from these objects. This relationship between the objects is a Structure linkdelta link. Changing an object always results in the change being copied to all the objects derived from this source object. See also Structure linkInheriting Properties.

Procedure

...

       1.      In the Portal Catalog, right-click the role or workset and choose Open ® Object. You can also double-click a role or workset in the Portal Catalog to open its editor.

The Editor opens.

       2.      Make your changes to the object by for example:

     Removing entries

     Adding entries

Changing the properties of contained objects

Note

You do not need to save when you change hierarchies. Changes to role and workset hierarchies are automatically stored in the Portal Content Directory (PCD). However, you must save the changes you make using the Property Editor.

Once you have made your changes, all objects derived from the role or workset also contain these changes.

You can also change linked worksets and roles. For more information see Changing Linked Objects in Roles and Worksets.

Changes to Objects Delivered by SAP

Do not change the original objects delivered by SAP (for example, administrator roles). This would change an object that is not in your namespace.

For more information about changing objects delivered by SAP see Structure linkDelta Links and SAP Content Objects.
