Deactivating Indexes 

Use

You deactivate an index if you want the index to be temporarily unavailable to portal users.

Features

Deactivating an index has the following consequences:

·         The system no longer searches this index when a search is started.

·         The index is no longer available in the search options.

·         Taxonomies that are assigned to this index are no longer visible in the /taxonomies repository.

·         Documents from assigned data sources are no longer indexed. New documents and changes to documents are not reflected in the index.

If you reactivate an index, you should carry out an incremental update so that the index reflects the current status.

Activities

To deactivate an index, select it in the index list in the Index Administration iView, and choose Deactivate.
