Configuring a Search in a Federated Portal 

If you are running a federated portal in your system landscape, you can configure the search so that search queries are sent to all producer portals.

If you do not configure the consumer portal as described, the search query is sent only to the local portal.

Configuring Basic Settings

To configure the search dialog for use in a federated portal network, you must adapt the configuration of the search component:

       1.      In the consumer portal, choose System Administration ® System Configuration. In the detailed navigation area, choose Knowledge Management ® Content Management  ® User Interface ® Search ® Default Search Dialog Box.

       2.      Choose Edit.

       3.      In the Search Component Setparameter, select the FederatedSearch entry and save.

 

Using Another Search Component Set

If the Federated Search is active, the UISearchComponents search component set is used by default for the search dialog in the portal where the search query is made. To use another set of search components, add the following to the information in the iView parameter Query of the KM search iView: &SearchAdvancedComps=<%name of the required search component set%>

 

Search Options

A limited set of search options are used for the Federated Search. You cannot add to this set.
