Use

With this Web application, you can upload project data from a Microsoft Project (*.mpp) file from Microsoft Project to the current item.

You may choose to upload as follows:

·        Only the tasks

·        Only the resources

·        Tasks, resources and resource assignments

To navigate to this iView, choose Portfolio Management Portfolio Management Item Dashboard. Select an item and then click the Upload/Download Project Data in the navigation panel. This opens the Upload/Download Project Data iView.

Activities

To upload data from Microsoft Project, you do the following:

       1.      You select the Upload from Project radio button.

       2.      You select Microsoft Project from the drop down list in the Application field.

       3.      You fill in the other fields as follows:

Select the objects to be uploaded by clicking the appropriate checkboxes. If no objects are selected, only the metadata is uploaded.

Last Update

System Generated

Displays the date on which this data was last updated. Initially, this is blank.

Updated by

System Generated

Displays the user who updated the data. Initially this is blank.

Project Name

Mandatory

Specify the complete path of the Microsoft Project file that is to be uploaded or use Browse to locate from the local storage and select.

       4.      You click Upload to start the process. The system uploads the specified file and displays the results.

       5.      If the ActiveX control is not installed on the client machine, then the system asks for confirmation for installing the ActiveX control. Click yes and follow the installation steps.

       6.      To make the upload permanent, click Save Upload.

History Log

The system maintains a log of uploads. The table displays the log number the system has generated and the date of the upload. You may select the log entry and click Delete to delete the log entry. This does not affect that data which has been uploaded.

Uploading can be repeated as desired.
