Features

This iView enables you to enter the details for a new item, or multiple items.

To navigate to this iView, you can do the following:

...

       1.      Choose Item Management.

       2.      In the item dashboard, click Create New
OR in the left navigation panel, click the Create New Item action link.

To create a new item, you do the following:

...

       1.      The first Create New Item iView can be referred to as the “bucket selector” because it contains a list of buckets to which you have access to. Only the buckets at the lowest level are displayed because you can only create items in the lowest level bucket. Items cannot be created in buckets with sub-buckets in them. When you have selected a bucket in which to create the new item, your user is checked against access authorization to create items.

       2.      The second Create New Item iView opens when you click Next.

       3.      Then you select whether to create a single item or multiple items.

       4.      Then you select an item type.

Note

If you select Multiple Items, you create more than one item at a time in a list, but with limited details per each item (name, external id, item type). You will have to add further information for these items manually at a later stage. To begin, click Items Dashboard in the navigator area on the left of the screen. The Item Dashboard screen opens. Among the list, click one of the newly created items. The Item Overview screen opens, presenting you the seven trays to enter information attributes for this item.

       5.      Automatically the third Create New ItemiView opens. Here you enter the item data

At the bottom of the screen, you can set an indicator to escalate an item, if desired.

In the main area of the Create New Item screen, you can see the following trays, expandable by a click the icon to the right of each header, collectively expandable by clicking the overlapping triangles in the upper right of the screen. The fields available in the trays can be configured during the implementation (IMG). Depending on your configuration, fields which have been enabled will appear in the trays:

A portfolio and a bucket must exist before an item can be created. Items can be created only in a bucket.
