Thumbnails
You use the Thumbnails layout profile to display folders that contain images or documents for which thumbnails are supported.
A
repository manager for
thumbnails is configured in your system. This setting is made by a system
administrator.
The Thumbnails layout profile displays the images contained in a folder in miniature. If you click on the thumbnail the image is displayed in its original size.
If a folder contains objects for which thumbnails are supported, the system displays the appropriate symbol for the object type.
Settings for Thumbnails
Parameters |
Description |
Number of rows |
Rows in which the thumbnails are displayed. |
Number of columns |
Columns in which the thumbnails are displayed. |
Width |
Width of the thumbnails in pixels. |
Height |
Heigth of the thumbnails in pixels. |
The system always keeps the width-to-height ratio of the original images. The images are made smaller so that they fit into the space defined by you.

For example, you enter the following values:
Width: 80
Height: 80
The image has a size of 800 x 600 pixels. The system generates a thumbnail of 80 x 60 pixels.
When you first open the folder the system generates thumbails of the contained images in the appropriate size. These are stored in a separate repository so that the thumbnails are displayed quickly when called - even if called by another user.
