After checking the short/over status, verify and possibly adjust the Totals Records POS transactions and the related Sales/Financial POS transactions. After any change to the tender amounts in any of these transactions, you may want to determine the short/over differences again, and possibly manually send them over to a financial system (for example, SAP ERP FI).

Prerequisites

You have already determined the short/over differences. For more information, see Determining Short/Over Differences.

Process

You start the POS Workbench, define your settings, and restrict your selection area. Ensure that the view display is selected for POS transactions in the POS Workbench and the Totals records business transactions are included, and then carry out the selection. In the navigation area, you navigate along the folder hierarchy to the level of the individual Totals Records transactions and display the Short/Over tab by clicking on the Short/Over button.

You can drill down and double-click on a specific Totals Records POS transaction from the short/over tree. This takes you to the editor display which enables a detailed view of the POS transaction. You can also display and modify the segments of the transaction. Furthermore, you can browse the related Sales and Financial POS transactions and make any required adjustments.

The start and end of transaction timestamp of a Totals Records transaction will determine the interval in which the Sales and Financial transactions belong. For example, if:

  • the calculation method was set to Calculate Expected Amount and Short/Over amount from related sales and financial POS transactions, and

  • a Totals Records transaction has 04.11.2012 09:00:00 and 04.11.2012 17:00:00 for the start and end timestamps

then all Sales and Financial transactions having a start of transaction timestamp between 9:00 and 17:00 on 04.11.2012 will be taken into consideration when determining the short/over differences.

After making modifications, you come back to the Short/Over tab and click on the Recalculate Short/Overs button, which can trigger changes in the Short/Over status column. To conclude the process, send the newly determined short/over differences to ERP by clicking the button Send Short/Overs to ERP.
