Procedure documentation Searching for Elements by Attribute  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Prerequisites

You are on the electronic desk screen in the area This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Work Environment.

Procedure

...

       1.      Place your cursor on the element type by which you want to search (case, incoming post item, document, record, or record plan) and select Search in the context menu.

The dialog box appears for searching by element.

       2.      Select the attribute for which you want to enter a value from the input help in the column Attribute.

If you want to evaluate a number of attributes, select them in the following lines.

       3.      Select an option from the input help in the column Option.

You can also do a generic search (*) by selecting either the option Template or doing a generic search using the option Same. If you search using the option Same, the system automatically changes the option to Template.

       4.      Enter a value for the attribute selected. You can enter an interval in the columns From and To.

       5.      Select This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Start Search.

The tab page Result List appears showing the hits for your search. The elements in the hit list have all the attribute values and full-text search values you entered. The attribute values for each document are displayed in the columns. There are symbols for the standard functions for lists.

       6.      Select a document and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Copy Selection.

The element you selected is displayed and entered on the electronic desk in the area History.

Result

You can either only display or process the element, depending on the authorization you have.
