Managing Technical Attributes
Technical attributes are organized in a value hierarchy. These values can be assigned to the development objects available in the Guided Procedures (GP), so that you can customize how you categorize them. This way you can search for a development object using a specific search criterion.

1. In the Administration workset, choose Technical Attributes → Manage Technical Attributes.
2. To add a new technical attribute, choose Add Attribute.
The Create Attribute screen appears.
3. Enter the following information for the technical attribute:
¡ Technical Name – a unique identifier
You are allowed to use the following characters for the technical name:
§ Upper- and lowercase letters from the Latin alphabet
§ Digits from 0 to 9
§ Underscore
○ Namespace – a namespace for the attribute; it enables you to classify attributes
○ Original Language – from the dropdown box, select a language
○ Name – an arbitrary name for the attribute
○ Description – a brief description
4. Choose Next.
The Add Values screen appears.
5. To create a root value for the technical attribute, choose New Root Value.
6. Enter the following value data:
○ Technical Name – a unique identifier within the values tree.
○ Custom Text – to add a custom text when you assign a value to your development object, enable the checkbox. You use the custom text as a criterion in the development object search.

○ Name – a meaningful name for the value.
○ Description – a brief description of the value.

If you enable the Custom Text checkbox for a particular value it is not possible to create a sub value for it.
7. Once you have entered the data, choose Create Value to confirm.
8. To create a sub-value, choose New Sub-Value and repeat steps 6 and 7.
9. Choose Finish.
To confirm your choice, choose Yes.
