This section covers the release notes for SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver Process Integration 7.1, support package stack 00. The release notes are structured according to the different areas of SOA Middleware represented in SAP NetWeaver Process Integration 7.1:

  • Modeling and Design

The Enterprise Services Repository (ES Repository) is the central location for defining, accessing, and managing SOA assets (such as Enterprise Services and business objects). It stores the definitions and metadata of Enterprise Services and business processes whilst also providing a central modeling and design environment for creating, aggregating, and using Enterprise Services. The Services Registry supports the publication, classification, and discovery of Enterprise Services.

  • Service Bus

The Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) enables service bus-based integration between applications. It provides secure, standards-based, reliable, and scalable communication between provider and consumer applications. With service bus-based integration, providers and consumers of services and events connect cross the entire system landscape, including providing access to legacy systems and B2B protocols quickly and easily.

  • SOA Management

SAP NetWeaver Process Integration provides a set of management capabilities to enable and safeguard the deployment and operations of service-enabled applications and processes. SOA Management ensures runtime governance of service-enabled applications in heterogeneous environments; ensures security with access control, authentication, and auditing features; enforces compliance to policies when configuring and executing service-based applications, and monitors the execution of services used by service-enabled applications.
