Integrating Business Systems with the CIDX Adapter 

The connectivity option illustrated below shows only half of a complete connectivity option in which a business system that is connected to an Integration Server by way of a CIDX adapter can assume the role of sender or receiver system, or both.

Use

You use the CIDX adapter to send messages between the Integration Server and a CIDX-compatible system. The CIDX adapter converts the message format of SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI) to the CIDX Chem eStandard message format, and the other way round.

Description

The CIDX adapter connects a CIDX-compatible system to the Integration Server for message exchange.

When a message is received from the CIDX-compatible system, the CIDX adapter converts the message protocol to a message protocol that the Integration Server can understand and sends the message to the Integration Server for further processing.

To send a message from XI to a receiver CIDX-compatible system, the CIDX adapter receives the message from the Integration Server, converts the message protocol from SAP XI to the Chem eStandard V 3.0 message protocol, and sends the message to the CIDX-compatible system.

 

Example

The CIDX adapter of an Integration Server reads a Chem eStandard V 3.0 message file from a CIDX-compatible external system. The message is converted into an XML message and is processed by the Integration Engine.
